How to Drive the MG ZS EV (Instruction Manual)
Starting the Car:
- Press the brake pedal and push the “Start/Stop” button located on the right side behind the steering wheel.
- Dashboard Display will show “Ready” when the car is ready to drive.
Turn Off the Car:
- Press the brake pedal and push the “Start / Stop” button located on the right side behind the steering wheel.
- Car and Dashboard Display will turn off.
- Do not take the keys.
Locking and Unlocking the Car:
- Use the Master Rental app to lock or unlock the car with the ‘Pause’ function.
- Pause: Lock the car by selecting ‘Pause’ in the app’s menu.
- Unlock: Unlock the car by selecting ‘Unlock’ in the app’s menu.
Shifting Gears:
- Drive (D): Press the brake pedal and turn the transmission dial to “D.”
- Reverse (R): Press the brake pedal and turn the transmission dial to “R.”
- Neutral (N): Press the brake pedal and turn the transmission dial to “N.”
- Park (P): Press the brake pedal and press the “P” button on the dial.
Charging the vehicle:
There is a list below with the addresses of known 22KW charging stations for your convenience.
Use Maps.Me or Google Maps via Android Auto or Apple Car play on the MG ZS EV (Bluetooth: AutoKit_ECE or AutoKit_DFO) to navigate to the nearest working charging station.
- Locate the MG ZS EV Charging Port:
Push the MG logo at the front to reveal the charging ports. See video below for visual.
- Connect the Cable:
Use the charging cable from the trunk and plug it into the 22kW port at the charging station. See video below for visual. - Do not use the charging stations’ (smaller) 7kw adapter plug as this does not fit on the MG ZS EV charging port.
- Start Charging:
The charging station light should turn blue. If needed, use the D-Point token from the glove box to activate charging. Please remember to put the D-Point token back in the MG ZS EV’s glove-box slot. Lock the car using the app by ‘Pausing’ if you are going to return and continue the ride later or End the Ride in the app to Lock the Car. Remember to take all of your belongings before Ending the Ride.
If there is no light showing on the charging station, then the charging station is out of service.
End Charging:
- Unlock the car with the Master Rental app.
- Unplug the charging cable from the car first and the charging station second (two beeps will sound when the charging station unlocks the cable and turn the light to green).
If the car is unlocked and the charging cable is still locked in the car port, unlock the car and try again and if it’s still locked, use the D-Point token inside the MG ZS EV’s glove-box to tap on the charging station to unlock the cables. Do not brute-force or pull too hard on the cables if they are still locked in the ports. You are liable for the damages if you damage the charging ports including the charging cable. - Please stow the charging cable in the MG ZS EV’s trunk.
- Put the covers back on the MG ZS EV’s charging ports and push the MG logo back on the front of the car.
